This largest in Scotland and deepest fixed offshore wind farm in the world “can generate enough electricity to power two-thirds of Scotland’s households”.

But to fully benefit from this development there need to be prompt solutions to the limitations of National Grid and decoupled fees for gas and electricity.

This is what Paul Cooley, Director of SSE Renewables, one of the companies behind the development, meant by saying: “there’s a real imperative now to move much faster in terms of hurdles like grids, like consents and like pricing in the supply chain.”
